Industrial Deserializer board is a signal processing device, mainly used to convert raw data signals output from sensors or cameras into resolvable images or control commands, which is widely used in the fields of machine vision, automated detection, industrial control and so on. Its core functions include protocol conversion (e.g. MIPI CSI-2, LVDS), data decoding (e.g. RAW image, compressed format) and signal conditioning (e.g. noise filtering, timing alignment). The following is an explanation of the technical principles, application scenarios and typical cases:
I. Technical principles and functions of industrial Deserializer boards
1. Signal protocol analysis and conversion
Input signal type: Deserializer boards usually receive differential signals (e.g. HS mode of MIPI CSI-2) or parallel signals (e.g. DVP interface), which contain raw image data (e.g. RAW format) or control commands output from camera modules.
Protocol processing: For example, for the MIPI CSI-2 protocol, the Deserializer board needs to handle its layered structure (application layer, protocol layer, physical layer), including data packetization/unpacketization, error correction (e.g., CRC) and channel management. Take Dothinkey's Image Grabber as an example, it realizes the support of CPHY LRTE mode through FPGA, which solves the problem that the traditional special chip can't produce images due to the limitation of protocol version.
Output Interface: The decoded data is transmitted to computer or host computer through USB3.0, GigE Vision or HDMI interface, which supports real-time image analysis or storage.


2. Data decoding and image processing
RAW image decoding: The RAW data (e.g. Bayer format) output from the camera module needs to be converted to standard image formats (e.g. RGB, YUV) through the Deserializer board for subsequent analysis. Compression format processing: Some Deserializer boards support real-time decoding of H.264, H.265 and other video encodings, which is suitable for scenarios requiring high-resolution video streams (e.g. 8K monitoring).


3. Signal Conditioning and Optimization
Noise filtering: Reduce signal interference through hardware circuitry or digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms to improve image quality.
Timing Alignment: Ensure synchronized transmission of multi-channel data (e.g., multi-camera modules) to avoid image misalignment.
